오래전... 80년대 회사 직원 생일날 모두의 의견에 따라 열대명이 간곳이 지금은 주인이 바뀐 Mongolian BBQ[몽고리안 바비큐]였다. 하나같이 한마디씩, 바닥에서 냄새, 고기가 한물가고, 도야지 같이 4번을 먹고 징징대는 쨩꼴라, 등등 그리고 이곳 씰리콘 벨리 어느 회사에서 일하던 하나님이 약속하신듯 꼭 하나씩 있는 Jack! 기다렸다는듯, server가 sexy한대 불친절한 개? 이란다. 별말은 않 했지만 나도 마음에 들지않아 가까이 살면서도 한번도 않간지 15년이 넘었는데.....
오래초 한국으로 마지못해 가족 모두 철수한 친구 때문에 다시가본 그곳 (엘 카미노 교포 시장 건너 당구장옆) 모든것이 보란듯이 달라져 있었댜
주인은 친절한 한국 중년분들, 부드럽고 친절, 거의 먼지 하나 없고 신선하고 다양해진 야채와 고기, 내가 즐기는 양고기, 미싸지 않은 가격. 꼭 선전해 주는것 같은데 사실 그것도 그런것이 주인장과 나이도 같고 나와같이 jazz(제즈)광 이고 항상 흐르는 음악과 무었보다 내가 다 고르고 내눈으로 쿡 하든것 볼수있어 자주 간다.
내 기억으론 약 40여년전 부모님이 데리고가서 맛나게 먹던 명동 어느곳 징기스칸 요리집 생각이 어렴푸시 나는데 그곳은 꽤 비쌌던 기억도.....
What I like about this place is clean and added more items such as lamb,meat ball and cool music. I am a regular customer now, coming at least once a week. I remember I was with a whole bunch of work buddies at this place about fifteen years ago. At that time, I didnot like the place at all. So does everyone else. When we left, everyone said something bad about the place. You know how that goes... dirty dishies and dirty that, floor smells, rice wasn't cooked properly and there goes Jack, like any company you work for in this Valley, there is always one like Jack, And he goes " that bitchy waitress is rude and ugly". Since then, I never went back to place again. About three month ago, a dear friend of mine had to leave US. A sort of fairwell party was thrown at the El Camino Mongolian BBQ. I walked in with bad image that I had over a decade ago. Guess What I found out? All those bad stuffs were gone. The place was totally cool! One thing before I go, new owner couple work there everyday. I found them so kind and I can talk, even though they have been in US only a several years. Most of all, owner guy digs jazz like me and you can listen good old dixie jazz at there So if you living in this Valley, stop by sometime and try out. You might like the place.
