The General Election Commission of Indonesia (KPU RI) conducted an evaluation of the 2024 Election with Commission II of the DPR RI. Among the letters, there was a request to endorse, approve, and designate Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Mr. Mohammad Sohibul Iman as the gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates for DKI," said Syaikhu.

"For the 2024 regional elections, we will prepare for a maximum of 600 voters per TPS, ensuring no merging of villages/sub-districts, ease of voter access to the TPS, not separating voters within the same family at different TPS, and local geographical aspects," said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari at the Parliament Building in Senayan, Jakarta (15/5/2024).

Hasyim also reasoned that with an increased number of voters in one TPS, it would facilitate data entry since voters from two TPS are combined into one. The KPU acknowledged some weaknesses in Sirekap. Therefore, the KPU will address these weaknesses, including the translation of the vote count from photo forms to numerical data. According to her, this aims to prevent any discrepancies between the vote counts recorded at polling stations and the results read by Sirekap using optical character recognition (OCR) technology.

Hasyim added that in the 2024 Regional Elections, the KPU RI will also adopt special polling stations to ensure the fulfillment of voting rights for citizens. "To ensure that our citizens within the designated electoral areas can still vote, such as workers in plantations and mines who cannot return to their TPS at the address on their ID cards, special location TPS will be prepared," Hasyim emphasized.
