I finally came across the same problem today.  The problem is that USB drive is being assigned with one of drive letters that is already assigned to other drive.  In order to fix this, insert your USB drive.  Then right click your My Computer icon and select Manage.  From the Computer Management window, select Disk Management.  Find your USB drive from the right panel and right click it.  Then select Change drive letter.  then assign different driver letter.  Your USB drive should appear on your screen.  If not, go to windows explorer and look for the drive letter you assigned on the USB drive.
