When you say a home page, I assume you meant you own a web server. If you own a web server, you don't need a third party software in order to tell who has been visiting your sites.
Simply turn on the built-in log.
Depending on the logging level (simple, verbose, etc), you will be able to tell when and who (IP address) visited your sites.

Thanks so much, there! If I own a web server, how am I able to tell who has been visiting? Are you talking that we could find out visitors only if he/she logged on? not the person who just looked up? right?
I am not too sure what kind of web server you have but most common one would be Windows IIS. If you open IIS configuration console, there should be option that says enable logging.
Then you can open the log file and see who has been visiting your site. Please don't be confused with "logging user activity by server" and "users logging to a server."
Logging users' activity is being done by the server and users logging on to a server means users type their login information for authentication purposes to use resources that are restricted to registered users only.
Long story short, you don't need users to log on to your server for you to see who (IP address) has been visiting your site. The server log will tell you who has been visiting regardless.
Hi, there! Thank you so very much for helping me with my question.
Your kindness really meant more than words could ever thank you for.
