Yes, you can legally purchase liquor at the Peace Bridge Duty Free on any trip to Canada, as long as it is for personal consumption.

Are there any duty charges on Liquor I purchase if I have been in Canada just one day?
Yes, all liquor purchase which exceed your personal exemptions are subject to duty. If your are in Canada for more than 48 hours, your 1st bottle is duty free. any additional bottles are subject to duty. If you are in Canada from 1 minute to 48 hours all liquor is subject to a small duty based on Customs discretion.

Can I purchase additional alcohol, beyond my Duty Free bottle or case limit?
Yes, it is perfectly legal to purchase additional bottles of alcohol or cases of beer, when heading back into the USA, as long as it is for personal consumption. All additional liquor purchases, which exceed your personal exemptions are subject to Duty.

How much is duty on liquor?
The duties range on liquor depending on the country of origin, and alcohol content. However, even after paying the duty your savings are still substantial.

Yes if you have been out of Canada for 48 hours or more you can bring 1 bottle, or 1 case of beer, back duty free when returning to Canada.
Any additional bottles are subject to duty. If you have been out of Canada for less than 48 hours, all alcohol and beer is subject to duty, when returning to Canada. The duty charges at Canadian Customs are substantially higher then the duty charges at US customs, please contact
