If you are going to convert Word or NotePad documents into PDF routinely (more than once), better invest in a Acrobat Elements, which is a handy dandy little program... I bought it at about $50 once... I believe you could download a trial version from Adobe.com to see how that works before investing in one.
Of course if you buy the full version Acrobat program, you can have all the function but for an occasional work of converting any files to PDF, Acrobat Elements will do just fine...
